I am a whole food plant based nutrition consultant. I love nutrition, and have studied health and nutrition for over 7 years.
When I weighed 350 pounds I realized two things, First that I was a food addict. Second that my way of trying to lose weight wasn't getting me to the healthy, active, foster parent I wanted to be. I needed a change.
I have eaten my whole life as a way of coping with good times or bad. I ate and ate. which led me to diet after diet. My A1C was 13. The shots I was taking were putting weight on. A rollercoaster of ups and downs led me to 350 pounds. I could barely get around any longer. I just wanted to give up. I was searching online and found the documentary "forks over knives."
I found a new beginning. I researched the many doctors from the show, and so began my new way of life. Learning and exploring WFPB nutrition and how the food we eat can change our lives.
Today I am free. I have lost over 150 pounds. I no longer use a nebulizer, take insulin shots, and heart medication, I am cancer-free, and my two new hips work great!

I wish I could say it was simple; however, I needed to look deeply into the different modalities within the WFPB community and find what types of foods work best with my body.
All of us are different. Our bodies respond differently to foods.
I went to school and received my certification from e-Cornell. I am a constant student. I love exploring and studying nutrition, whether through school at Bauman college or researching health-related subjects.
